ABOUT ME
Some facts about me:
1. My name is Patrícia and I'm a web accessibility consultant.
2. My passion is making websites and videogames enjoyable and accessible for people with and without disabilities.
3. My master's dissertation (2023) is a research about the usability and accessibility of three portuguese museum websites: "Inaccessible Websites: Usability and Accessibility in Portuguese Museum Websites".
4. I also like playing games, and my favorite is Spirit Island.
5. I created the blind-accessible videogame Guiding Star for the Minigame a Month Jam (May 2024).
6. I'm a web accessibility consultant because I strongly believe in this value: that everyone should be able to live fulfilling and autonomous experiences as much as possible.
I want to help you reach your target audience, and to help your audience reach you and remember that using your product was a positive experience, tailored for them.

"What is an accessible museum website? Evaluation methodologies and best practices"

In this conference talk, with practical examples, I explained the importance of web accessibility. I presented the main methodologies we can use to evaluate a website, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and user testing procedures.

Diagnosed the accessibility of the Summit's website according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. Level AA, reported on the issues I found, proposed for solutions and assisted my lead with implementing them. Made in Wordpress.
